The Tokyo City Garden is an environmentally-friendly approach to an urban front garden. A parking space is incorporated into the garden, and is covered by a pergola, creating a green roof of climbing plants.
Run-off water is collected from the roof and paving, and used for irrigation of the garden. The boundaries are of natural stone that ripples round the garden, and contrasts with the soft planting.
