Begonia aff. grandis subsp. sinensis
David Rhodes – Rhodes & Rockliffe
This is a new Begonia for Chelsea is actually a tubulous Begonia. It originates from China, it’s name is Begonia grandis subsp. sinensis. It has huge green leaves with the red veining underneath, it has small pink flowers in the summer and it produces small green bulbils in the axils each autumn from which you can propagate it in the spring. And it’s a very architectural plant, looks great in a pot on its own or as a pair and you can also grow it in the garden and completely hardy in the UK.
