The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Garden at Hyde Hall in Essex will be hosting its flagship Flower Show event from Thursday 31 July to Sunday 3 August 2014. The show promises an all-encompassing day out with specialist nurseries, gardening sundries, talks and advice, as well as the chance to explore the garden in full bloom. The show will include around 50 award-winning nurseries and tradestands, many of which will be local to Essex. With a wealth of experts on hand visitors will be sure of selecting and choosing the right plants for their garden. There will be plenty of places to stop for a cup of tea and a piece of cake, but if you really want to start the day off at a more leisurely pace, be sure to take advantage of the special flower show breakfast packages. Groups of 10+ can also benefit from discounted admission prices to the garden, and for your shopping convenience a plant crèche will be available. If the pace is all too much, take time out to relax and discover the the beauty of RHS Garden Hyde Hall in its full summer glory. From the gorgeous colour-themed Herbaceous Border bursting with traditional favourites such as crocosmia, rudbeckias, heleniums and echinacea to the tranquil blues of agapanthus and salvias in the Farmhouse Garden there's plenty to see and do. Visitors on the first day of the show (Thursday 31st July) will also be able to take part in a Gardening Question & Answer session with BBC Radio Essex presenter Ken Crowther. Ken will be joined Tom Cole from Writtle College and freelance gardening expert Geoff Hodge. Normal garden admission applies. Booking not required.
