Giardino Sonoro La Limonaia dell’Imperialino (GSLI) is an Italian environmental design team based in Florence. Sonic, botanical and luminous features are GSLI’s trademarks, which are brought together to enhance architectural and natural spaces, telling stories and creating atmosphere. GSLI has developed a symbolic concept of our environment, created through historical reference, the senses and cultural changes of perception.

The Imaginary Pavilion of Love is a dense combination of symbols: Shakespearean quotations and illustrations; botanical metaphors of faith and pleasure; intensity and abandon created by voices and sounds; courage and misunderstanding provided by the density and intensity of a Hieracium bed or a Lippia field, mixing surface and depth, work and silence, passion and fear.

GSLI works in the realm of the artificial, but within the idea of a public, naturalistic environment for everyday life. The garden becomes an interactive laboratory where all sorts of living forms find a way to a common life, providing the chance for dynamic ecology.
