A garden to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. This courtyard garden has a nautical theme with coastal-influenced planting inspired by the location of Trafalgar along with drifts of lavender, Festuca glauca and cotoneaster to resemble the movement of the sea. This is combined with subtle historical influences through hard landscaping - oak (the fabric of his fleet), an olive tree (for peace) and sails depicting his celebrated quote ‘England expects that every man will do his duty’.
The garden is to be donated to Portsmouth City Council for construction in a public green space after the show.
