Almost all of the plants are edible, demonstrating how to grow your own herbs, fruits and vegetables in a small area. A central container will be planted with a specimen Cynara scolymus (globe artichoke) underplanted with trailing and bush edibles such as blueberry, trailing tomato and nasturtium. The surround will comprise of four rectangular troughs filled with edible herbs, including lemon thyme, lemongrass and variegated peppermint, and dotted with blue Agave americana and dwarf Helianthus (sunflower). Giant bamboo canes will rise from each corner and cross the top to form a structure on which a grape will weave its way. The ground cover is a bed of Scottish pebbles.
