Emma Dawson is a second-year student studying a National Diploma in Horticulture at Capel Manor College. The design is inspired by the artist Andy Goldsworthy and his collection of work entitled Time. Andy Goldsworthy’s work uses objects found in our natural surroundings to create his art; taking leaf or stone, in their own right beautiful objects, and forming a piece of greater beauty by their arrangement. This courtyard garden is bisected by a meandering stream. Stone-filled gabions form two sides of the garden, making a perfect foil for the drought-resistant, architectural planting.
