Fruit & Vegetables (7-8 July)
In partnership with New Covent Garden Food Company
Alongside the exhibitors, the gardeners at RHS Garden Wisley recreated the garden’s 3x3m vegetable plot - the inspiration point for the year-long RHS Grow Your Own Veg Campaign. The plot, based on the RHS Garden Harlow Carr plot featured in the RHS/BBC TV programme Grow Your Own Veg, demonstrated how to get the most produce out of a small space.
Also there was an amateur growers’ Summer Fruit & Vegetable Competition open to anyone who grows fruit or vegetables in gardens or allotments. Amateurs competed in a number of categories of seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs. New Covent Garden Food Co offered a special Most Meritorious Dish of Vegetables prize for the best vegetable dish, as well as offering tastings of their products.
