This garden has been designed to reflect the romance and charm of the Mediterranean style of gardening. The design appeals to the senses, with sweet-smelling plants and the soft sound of gentle running water.
Working with the climate change that is affecting us all, many plants in this garden would thrive in our increasingly warmer seasons. The pool, clad in stone and raised on all sides, draws the eye to the beautiful lilies that have opened up, creating a serene and calming atmosphere. A meandering gravel path leads to the pool, where there are seating areas for relaxing and enjoying the garden’s heavenly scent.
The Dorset Water Lily Company aims to highlight the diversity of these plants, many of which are grown in its nursery in Dorset without any heat and are fully sustainable and adaptable to the British climate.
