Travel arrangements

We recommend using public transport for easy access to the showground, and a quick exit at the end of the evening.

Trains

There is a regular South West Trains service from Waterloo direct to Hampton Court Station (approximate journey time of 30 minutes), which is a 10-15 minute walk to the showground, where you enter through the Thames Gate Entrance.

The last scheduled direct train from Hampton Court to Waterloo is at 10:24pm. The subsequent train will leave at 11:24pm, requiring a change at Surbiton. An additional non-scheduled train will be organised to leave Hampton Court Station at 12:12am running to Waterloo and stopping at all stations en route.

Please note, there are also South West Trains from Hampton Wick, and Kingston, which also terminate at Waterloo.

Bus

Catch the R68 from Richmond Station to Hampton Court Station (approximate journey time of 40 minutes).

Ferry

A ferry is available between Hampton Court Station and the Thames Gate Entrance/Exit from 6:30pm-7:30pm, returning later to meet the 10:24pm and 11:24pm trains to London.

Underground

The Underground provides links to the South West Trains service from:

Wimbledon - District Line

Vauxhall - Victoria Line

Waterloo - Jubilee Line/Northern Line/Bakerloo Line

Car parking

There are two car parking options:

Green Car Park

Pro: Easy exit at the end of the evening.
Con: Approximate 20 minute walk back to the car park.If arriving from the A309 from Cobham, A3, M25 (J10), please enter the Green Car Park via Campbell Gate.

If arriving from the A308 from Sunbury, Staines, M3, M25 (J12), please enter the Green Car Park via the Green Gate.

Entry to the Gala is a short stroll through the Palace Grounds, entering through the Palace Gate Entrance (please refer to orange dashed line on map).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Palace Gate closes at 8:30pm for firework preparation - no exit will be allowed through this gate at the end of the evening.

Exit the Gala through the Thames Gate following the riverside footpath back to the Green Car Park (please refer to blue dashed line on map) - this is an approximate 20 minute walk.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All cars are to exit the Green Car Park via the Green Gate.

Stud Gate Car Park

Pro: Short walk to the Showground.
Con: Long wait for exit at the end of the evening. Disabled Visitors – please display your blue/orange badge prominently on the dashboard to aid the car parking stewards in directing you to the relevant area of the car park.

If arriving from the A308 from Kingston, Richmond & Hampton Wick, enter the Stud Gate Car Park via the Stud Gate.Entry to and exit from the Gala is through the Long Water Gate.
