Welcome to the Lindley Library

The Lindley Library is the best gardening library in the world. It is essential for garden history, gardens and horticulture, with books from 1514 to the very latest publications.

The two main libraries at London and Wisley have extensive collections and specialist enquiry teams. They support the smaller libraries at Harlow Carr , Hyde Hall and Rosemoor .

Our Libraries are open to everyone, including amateur and professional gardeners, researchers and students.

Lindley Library, London - Summer closure

Lindley Library, London will close for two weeks 3-14 August 2009 for collections reorganisation and re-housing, and other housekeeping tasks.

During the closure Lindley Library, Wisley can help with all library enquiries including lending and renewals.

Arrangements for access to the Research Collections

We now ask everyone wishing to use the Research Collections to register first. RHS members will need to show their membership card. Non-members will need to provide two forms of identification.
