RHS Pest Surveys |
The RHS entomologists undertake these research projects to provide accurate and up to date advice on new pest problems in the UK. Most recently, the RHS entomologists were involved with a three-year PhD research degree project into the red lily beetle, its host range and the way it locates host plannts. This research project was finished in January 2008. If you see any of these pests in your garden, you can help with this research by submitting a record of a sighting online using our new forms. The RHS is appealing to gardeners around the country to be on the look-out for four invasive non-native pests as part of its research into the biology of Red lily beetle, Rosemary beetle, Berberis sawfly and Hemerocallis gall midge.
