RHS Flower Shows - the ideal gift for Mothering Sunday

Whether she is fervent about flowers or gunning for grow your own, in pursuit of practical advice or seeking inspirational ideas, the RHS Flower Shows have something for every-mum! Treat your Mother this Mothering Sunday (18 March) with tickets to one of the RHS Flower Shows (Tickets now on sale and can be booked via www.rhs.org.uk/flowershows or telephone 0870 247 1223).

For the chic and the stylish the conceptual gardens at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (3-8 July; 3 & 4 RHS members only) offer modern mums avant-garde designs. Oinking piglets and a vegetable plot take centre-stage in the Daily Mail Pavilion, making the world’s largest annual flower show an animal lovers and ‘good life’ devotees’ dream. With a majestic backdrop and the chance to explore the stunning show gardens, tickets to Hampton are a gift fit for a queen.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show, sponsored by Marshalls (22-26 May; 22 & 23 RHS members only) is the must-see event for the glamorous and the green. This year’s hot topic is sustainability, climate change and environmentally responsible gardening. Exciting green initiatives, such as solar-panelled sculptures and aquatic plant filters to recycle grey water, will be showcased by top garden designers. As the first event of the summer season, Chelsea tickets always sell out; book now for a Mothering Sunday gift she’ll never forget.

For the friendly and fun the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park (18-22 July; 18 July RHS members only) offers northern hospitality and lively displays. Vibrant, colourful and often eccentric entrants within the National Flower Bed Competition never fail to produce a smile. A ticket to Tatton is a gift of humour and inspirational gardens.

Street entertainers, free entry for under 16’s and a special school wheelbarrow competition makes the intimate RHS Spring Flower Show, Cardiff, (20-22 April) a great family day out. Fans of international singing sensation Katherine Jenkins will be able to enjoy a show of their own when the ‘Katherine Jenkins’ daffodil is launched; the bloom is expected to be one of the star attractions. The closest show to Mothering Sunday; why not treat the whole family to a day out.

Tickets to all RHS Flower Shows are available in advance by calling 0870 247 1223 or visiting www.rhs.org.uk/flowershows.
