Chateau Wisley goes on sale

22 September 2008

The Glasshouse 2007 - Wisley's own wineThe 2007 vintage of wine made from grapes grown at RHS Garden Wisley has gone on sale in the Wisley Shop.

It’s the second year Wisley has produced wine from grapes grown in the garden. The white wine, known as The Glasshouse, has been described by critics as ‘light and crisp on the palate’. It’s made from two grape cultivars - ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Orion’ - and was developed with the help of Plumpton College, near Lewes in East Sussex. Just 773 bottles of the 2007 vintage have been made.

The Glasshouse 2007 is available from the Wisley Shop priced at £9.95 a bottle.
