  • Genus Ilex can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs and trees with often spiny leaves, small white flowers (male and female usually on separate plants) and, on female plants, showy berries in autumn

  • Family Aquifoliaceae / Aquifoliaceae

  • Species 'Camelliifolia' is a vigorous medium-sized evergreen tree with dark glossy green, almost spineless leaves to 12cm long, on purple young shoots. Flowers small, dull white, followed by large red berries
