The ornamental deadnettles are grown primarily for their attractively marbled or variegated foliage, as well as the flowers freely produced in spring.
RHS trials
A trial of Lamium
maculatum cultivars was completed in 1998. Although
no awards were made, almost 40 entries were received and the
trial aroused considerable interest. An identification key
to the cultivars is available from the Trials Office.
