Seed Distribution Scheme 2009
Anyone who has ordered seed in the previous year will automatically receive a copy of the following year's list or receive an e-mail giving details of ordering online. RHS members who are new to the scheme can register for the next edition of the seed list by contacting the Membership Department; see below.
The 2009 seed list will be available from 1 November 2008.
About the Scheme
One of the many benefits of RHS membership is the opportunity to order seeds, which have been harvested from RHS gardens Wisley in Surrey, Hyde Hall in Essex, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire and Rosemoor in Devon.
Approximately 250,000 packets of seeds are distributed each year to RHS members worldwide, in response to more than 6,000 requests.
The RHS is dedicated to promoting excellence in horticulture and providing expert gardening advice. RHS gardens are committed to cultivating a wide range of plants to the highest standard, so that you can be assured of a good selection to choose from.
Throughout the year at RHS gardens, seed is gathered from more than 700 different plant varieties. The Seed Department at Wisley then dries, cleans and packs all the seeds ready for dispatch. Between January and April the packets of seed are dispatched by RHS staff and volunteers.
Access to this diversity of seeds from plants cultivated by experts is a great benefit for RHS members, and the Seed Distribution Scheme makes ordering seeds for your garden simple and straightforward.
RHS members can apply for up to 20 packets of seed selected from the list. As only limited quantities of some seed are available, you can also list up to five alternative selections. Please note that only one packet of seed of any one type can be supplied.
