Seed scheme for members 2011/2012

As a member of the Royal Horticultural Society, one of the many benefits is the opportunity to order seeds, which have been harvested by hand from RHS gardens Wisley in Surrey, Hyde Hall in Essex, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire and Rosemoor in Devon.
Please note that unfortunately we are still only able to send seed to addresses in the UK and EU, Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
To take advantage of the seed scheme there is charge of £12.
This charge contributes to the postage and packing of seeds, and towards the cost of running and staffing the Seed Department at RHS Garden Wisley.
Ordering online will available until 31 March 2012.
If you prefer to order by post please contact RHS membership for a seed list and order form, by telephoning 0845 062 1111, emailing membership@rhs.org.uk or write to:

Ordering Online - Helpful hints
We recommend that you download the list first, as this will enable you to choose your selections at leisure. Make a note of the number of your selections and use these when you order online.
You may like to refer to the germination guide which is new to the website this year. It may help you to make your selections.
Choose up to 20 items to enter as your ‘first choices’, then choose up to five items to put in your ‘alternative list’. The seed department will then be able to make substitutions if your first choice has run out.
You may choose to order one or more of the collections but please remember that one collection has five packets of seed and will therefore use five of your choices. If you ordered four collections that would be your full allocation.
You will receive an e-mail to verify your order.
This will also contain a unique reference number. If you do not receive an e-mail your order has not been registered for some reason and you will need to try again. If you have repeated problems please contact the Membership Department.
When to expect your seed
The dispatch of orders starts in January 2012 and is usually completed by the end of April. If you have not received your seed by 1 May please contact the Membership team.
More information about the scheme
The Seed Distribution Scheme is available exclusively to members of the RHS. Members can order up to 20 packets of seed which have been harvested from all four RHS gardens, Wisley in Surrey, Hyde Hall in Essex, Harlow Carr in Yorkshire and Rosemoor in Devon. At present seed can only be sent to addresses in the UK, EU Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
Throughout the year, at RHS gardens, seed is gathered from hundreds of different plant varieties. The Seed Department at Wisley then dries, cleans and packs all the seeds ready for dispatch between January and April.
The RHS is dedicated to promoting excellence in horticulture and providing expert gardening advice. RHS gardens are committed to cultivating a wide range of plants to the highest standard, so that you can be assured of a good selection to choose from.
Access to this diversity of seeds from plants cultivated by experts is a great benefit for RHS members, and the Seed Distribution Scheme makes ordering seeds for your garden simple and straightforward.
