Five days on from our last update, some of our radishes were ready for harvesting.
Ali harvested the two front rows in her growing-bag, resulting in 12 ‘Mirabeau’ and 11 ‘Rudi’. These were the rows that had been covered initially and so the radishes were a little further on than the back two rows that were left uncovered.

Sue also started to harvest her radishes, selecting those that were showing good colour and size.
Between us we harvested quite a few. Sue took hers home for her husband as she doesn’t particularly like radishes!

Ali on the other hand decided to tuck into hers straight away. After washing them and taking the tops off (she has put those in her compost bin at home) she sliced some into her lunchtime salad.
Val was on leave Friday and Monday, and so will be inspecting and perhaps harvesting some of her radishes on Tuesday. Linda was also on leave on Friday, back on Monday and she is going to remove those that are large enough and leave the thin roots to swell a little more.
Karen decided hers weren’t quite ready to harvest yet and moved her recycled tubs alongside Val's where they will be in the sunshine for more of the day.Grow your own veg
