The organisation behind Pulp Friction Growing Skills Garden at RHS Chelsea 2024, explains their mission and aims
Pulp Friction CIC is a Nottinghamshire-based social enterprise that works with people who have learning disabilities and/or Autism to develop their social independence and work-readiness skills through individual development programs, designed with their members to reflect each individual’s hopes, dreams and aspirations. Their mission is to improve the wellbeing and lives of their members with a long term goal to (where possible) enter employment and independent living.

Positive inclusion is at the forefront of this garden which aims to promote the work that Pulp Friction CIC do. Pulp Friction operates in a manner which reflects a real work environment. Members have been involved with the project from start to finish contributing to the design process, growing plants, creating garden features, fundraising and helping with the garden build.
This garden aims to help change perceptions, stigma, stereotypes and prejudice about learning disabilities and autism and to unlock the potential of the members by creating new networking opportunities and avenues for work and work experience within the horticulture and related industries.
