The inspiration for this garden comes from Bolton Abbey Country Estate where designer Chris Myers used to work. During a winter spent maintaining the parkland on the estate he was so captured by the beauty of the woodlands that he wanted to recreate the scene as a show garden.
To reflect the heritage of Yorkshire he has incorporated elements such as dry stone walling and to highlight conservation and development efforts he has included a number of young trees.
The garden is sponsored by Yorkshire Forward which provides grants for people with woodland skills to help them start their own business. To reflect this there will be a demonstration of rural carpentry skills on the garden.
