A Penny For Them

The unique mode of Victorian transport, the penny farthing, is the inspiration for Knutsford’s flower bed, as the town houses the country’s Penny Farthing Museum.

The penny farthing itself features as a striking part of the display and Lobelia is used to represent the babbling brook, the River Lilly and the Moor Pool, which is also bordered by purple millet to show the bulrushes. The colour tones used throughout are based around Knutsford’s coat of arms.
