The Cuerdale Hoard

A Viking treasure of 8,600 coins and bullion lay between Walton-le-Dale and Ribchester and when found was claimed by Queen Victoria and then distributed to 170 residents. To this day Preston’s museum displays some of the hoard and the bed celebrates the treasure, a beach, the coast and a Viking ship.
