We would all like the perfect patio setting: plenty of sunshine and a sheltered position, a haven of peace and tranquillity, filled with colour and form. However, it is far more likely that your own patio is anything but ideal, particularly with regard to its aspect.
Position and aspect can have a dramatic effect on how plants develop and perform, and so choosing the right plants for the right location is essential. Our colourful display, using modern patio plants, consists of three similar outdoor rooms, each with a different aspect: one in full sun, one in part shade and one in almost full shade. The individual rooms are decorated with plants suitable for their aspect.
The display is designed to help you identify the species and cultivars that suit your own personal situation. The right plant in the right place can be a joy all summer, as it revels in its location. A little know-how can change any outdoor space into a perfect garden room.
