A novel approach is being taken by Peter Tinsley in A Modern Japanese Garden. The strong, clean lines of hard landscaping accentuate the structure of the pavilion in the midst of this design.
Large slate boulders represent mountains. Water cascades down the rocks and into the lake. A stepping stone path takes you through the scene, on a safe and stable journey. Shaped trees and shrubs have been placed to symbolise forests, where ferns and mosses thrive in the shady and damp conditions. The open ground is covered in lush greenery.
The garden is designed to balance the art of the designer with the unique, simple and understated grace of nature.
