Battle of Naseby

Naseby Avenue Residents and Tenants Association flower bed

The first residents' association to take on the battle of the flower beds, this small group from Manchester have chosen to recreate a scene from the Battle of Naseby which took place during the English Civil War. Their avenue was named after a battle at Naseby Ridge between Prince Rupert and Sir Thomas Fairfax, which resulted in Rupert's larger army losing out to a better disciplined new modes army. The bed shows the two men at the ready with their canons on the colourful battlefield.
