The concept at the centre of this garden is the carbon cycle, which aims to demonstrate the principal of offsetting carbon dioxide produced during the creation and maintenance of gardens in the UK.

Designed with a contemporary and ornamental style, the garden features a bubble structure to represent the earth’s atmosphere, which also, practically, contains sheltered seating. Reclaimed timber has been used throughout, as well as limestone, which is particularly good at storing carbon, and recycled plastics and glass.

The planting has been chosen for its robustness and textures, with a colour palette covering the spectrum from whites to cool blues, deep reds and various greens.

It is intended that the garden will be rebuilt at the Solaris Centre in Blackpool after the show.
