This garden is a luscious, contemporary space designed and created by Reaseheath College Garden and Landscape Design students, who this year are challenging the conventions of traditional garden design. Inspired by our sponsors, we are bringing together the best of the countryside and the urban landscape with the message “Enjoy Life!”.
Luscious Living demonstrates that a simple yet effective design can be created on a budget with the imaginative use of traditional and contemporary materials. This garden is also environmentally and ethically sound.
An easy-to-achieve modern interpretation of the British cornfield provides a retreat for both people and wildlife, and is the key feature of the planting. Clump-forming perennials selected for their sumptuous berry colours and ease of use are planted in exuberant swirls, combined with drills of cereals to provide movement and texture. This represents our sponsor Müller Dairy (UK) Ltd’s ethos of healthy eating.
Ethically sourced stone paving from Stonemarket (laid out with minimal wastage) contrasts with dramatic, modern materials, juxtaposing the best of classic materials with the latest recyclable landscape and furnishing products.
