Dragonfly Garden Design’s first garden at Tatton explores the cultural clash between teenagers and their parents’ generation, so is sure to resonate true with many visitors.
The garden is inspired by the designer’s personal experience back in 1977 when he discovered an obvious generation divide between himself and his father while listening to a Radio 4 broadcast discussing the controversial Sex Pistols' music.
There are two parts to the garden, one representing classical attitudes with fixed planting, rows of box hedging and five bay trees standing tall, and the contrasting part representing the punk garden with chaotic planting, plenty of texture, tone and contrast.
The punk garden will be planted more heavily than the classical side and will include an eye catching ‘punk’ plant.
