East meets West
A contemporary adaptation of features characteristic of gardens from the East and West, this show garden has been designed as a stylised living space for quiet contemplation and relaxation, a place of retreat from the stresses of everyday life. Set against a backdrop of architectural planting, including bamboos, pines and Japanese maples, the garden is partly enclosed by a natural stone wall reminiscent of both Western walled gardens and the walls that enclose many Eastern gardens.
A raised deck forms an elevated entrance and seating area, with a raised Zen-style garden and moon window opposite for balance. A dynamic sheets of running water falls from the ends of the elevated structures, providing visual stimulation whilst soothing the senses. Planting within the sunken section is a combination of ordered topiary and contrasting herbaceous planting.
This garden is the ideal place to relax after a hard week at work.
