A Garden for Grace

The Christie Hospital in Manchester is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, registering around 12,500 new patients and treating about 40,000 patients every year.

In addition to NHS funding, the Christie Hospital receives a significant amount of money each year through its charity. The money raised funds research and contributes to the provision of specialist medical equipment and extras that give the hospital its special comforting and therapeutic atmosphere for patients undergoing treatment for all types of cancer.

In recent year, Grace has been successfully treated for cancer, and now spends many happy hours tending her garden and enjoying time there with her family.

To reflect Grace's personality, the Christie garden has a romantic and traditional theme. The garden is an idyllic spot, perfect for relaxing amongst a wealth of colour and scent whilst being soothed by the gentle water feature set against the romantic backdrop of the folly. A beautifully crafted arbour offers a place for enjoying the garden and escaping the stresses of life. And, as Grace had in mind, it provides a haven, especially for those touched by cancer.
