There are five garden categories at BBC Gardeners' World Live in 2015.
Show Gardens: The Show Garden category allows designers to work to a brief and size of their choice. We accept applications on all themes, shapes and sizes – creativity knows no bounds!
Size: No restriction on shape or size
Metamorphosis Competitions: This competition challenges designers to be innovative as possible within the constraints of a set list of materials. The four selected designers will each receive a grant from the RHS towards the cost of the garden. Mentored by a top garden designer.
Size: 6m x 6m
Beautiful Border: Beautiful Borders illustrate what can be achieved in a small space and are open to horticultural students and budding gardeners to experience the design, planning and build of a horticultural exhibit in a show environment, without the larger financial and resource commitment of a Show Garden. Borders consist of a raised bed, which will be pre-prepared ready for planting.
Size: 6m x 1.5m or 3m x 3m
Edible Patches: Edible Patches demonstrate how you can make a small area an edible haven. The patches display innovative ways of growing edible plants in a small space, using height and props to achieve the most productive patch both in terms of crop yield and aesthetic look.
Size: 2.5m x 1.5m
Summer Window Boxes: Unique to BBC Gardeners' World Live 2015, this exciting new feature will provide an opportunity for West Midland-based gardeners and professional horticulturists to design and display a window box that will be exhibited at the show in 2015. The aim of the display is to inspire visitors, showing how they can brighten even the smallest of grey urban spaces or local streets through the art of containers planting. We invite you to create a sense of depth and dimension to a window box, with exciting plant combinations and high summer impact.
Applications for the 2016 BBC Gardeners World Live will be open in the spring/summer.
