'Oeschberg' is a striking cultivar, many-branched but upright, with dark foliage and crimson flower spikes
I. lobata is a twining climber up to 5m tall, usually grown as an annual, with three-lobed leaves. The crimson-flushed stems bear one-sided racemes of small, tubular, dark red flowers which fade to orange and then a creamy yellow in summer
'Dali' is a spreading annual to 25cm, with finely divided grey-green leaves and single, bright scarlet flowers to 7cm across
'Aglaja' is a compact herbaceous perennial to 70cm in height, with bright green, divided leaves and rich salmon-pink, bowl-shaped flowers shaded red at the base
'Vanguard' is a compact, erect annual to 30cm, with dense spikes of bright red flowers and bracts, from summer to autumn
'Millennium' grows to 1.8m, with long stems bearing strongly fragrant flowers 6cm across, the standards deep reddish-purple, the wing petals vivid purplish-red
'Chetwyn Doris' is a bushy spreading perennial with clove-scented, double flowers 5.5cm across, the petals broad, fringed, salmon-pink, darker edged and flecked, with a red eye
'Red Resilient' is an upright perennial with orange-red flowers to 17cm across, pale yellowish-orange on the reverse
L. leonurus is a semi-evergreen shrub to 2m, with lance-shaped leaves to 12cm long, and whorls of reddish orange to red flowers 6cm long in autumn and early winter
Munstead wood forms a small, broad shrub reaching 1m in height. It flowers from summer through to autumn bearing scented blooms that are crimson in bud, opening to large cups in rich blackcurrant shades
