Plants grown as Agapanthus africanus 'Albus' are evergreen perennial with narrow, erect leaves and long-stemmed umbels of white, trumpet-shaped flowers in late summer
'Lilliput' is a compact herbaceous perennial to 45cm tall, with narrow leaves and erect stems bearing a rounded cluster of funnel-shaped dark blue flowers in late summer
'Black Pantha' is a semi-evergreen, clump-forming cultivar growing up to 1m tall. Deep blue-black flowers emerge from almost black buds in summer, forming flowerheads up to 20cm across held above the foliage on erect stems
Brilliant Blue is a relatively compact herbaceous perennial, growing to about 50cm tall, with clumps of strap-shaped green leaves. This cultivar flowers freely in the summer producing loose clusters of rich sky-blue flowers with a darker stripe running through each petal
A. campanulatus subsp. patens is a clump forming herbaceous perennial to 1.2m, with narrowly strap-shaped, greyish-green leaves and erect stems bearing umbels of widely trumpet-shaped, blue flowers from late summer
'Windsor Grey' has an unusual, subtle flower colouring in a shade between palest lavender and grey, with hints of green from the pollen colour and the green bases of individual flowers; flowers can appear from July to September. This cultivar is reasonably tough and hardy
'Tinkerbell' has narrow, evergreen leaves striped with cream along their length. The blue flowers are produced very sparingly in mid to late summer
'Streamline' is a relatively short cultivar with evergreen leaves. Narrow, sky-blue florets with a deep blue inner stripe are carried on 30cm stems
'Blue Moon' is a perennial to 1m in height, with mid-green, strap-like foliage and thick, erect stems bearing large, rounded heads of pale grey-blue flowers; a later-flowering cultivar than many others
'Purple Cloud' is a deciduous plant forming a clump of strap-shaped leaves, with tall stems each bearing a large umbel of nodding, deep violet-blue flowers in mid and late summer
