It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
W. floribunda is a vigorous deciduous climber with pinnate leaves and, in early summer, fragrant, pea-like, violet-blue, pink or white flowers in racemes to 30cm or longer
'Alba' is a large, vigorous, twining climber, with pinnate leaves to 35cm in length, and drooping racemes to 60cm in length, composed of fragrant white flowers, tinged lilac, opening with the leaves
'Rosea' is a large, strong-growing deciduous, twining climber with dark green, pinnate leaves and drooping racemes to 60cm in length, crowded with fragrant, pale rose flowers tipped with purple, with the leaves
'Kuchi-beni'' is a clockwise-twining cultivar. The scented flowers are very pale lilac pink, with purple shading on the tip of the keel, produced in hanging clusters up to 45cm long in early summer. The foliage is pale green in spring and yellow in autumn
W. floribunda f. multijuga is a large twining, deciduous climber with large pinnate, dark green leaves and drooping racemes to 1m long, of fragrant, lilac flowers with dark violet markings, opening with the leaves in early summer
'Lawrence' is a clockwise-twining cultivar. The scented flowers are pale violet-blue, with a deeper violet-purple keel and wings, produced in long, dense, hanging racemes in early summer. The foliage is pale green in spring and yellow in autumn
'Caroline' is a vigorous climber, twining clockwise and blooming before the leaves open. The pale blue-purple flowers are borne in dense trusses up to 30cm long, from a relatively young age
'Burford' is a clockwise-twining cultivar. The scented flowers are pale violet, with a deeper purple keel and wings, produced in hanging racemes up to 40cm long, in early summer
'Domino' is a clockwise-twining cultivar. The scented flowers are lilac blue, produced in short trusses about 20cm long, in early summer
'Yae-kokuryu' is a vigorous deciduous climbing shrub with a clockwise-twining habit. The fragrant, dark purple, double flowers are held in long hanging racemes, to 50cm long, in late spring and early summer
