P. viridiglaucescens is a robust, very vigorous bamboo with green canes, maturing to yellow-green, with plentiful bright green leaves, glaucous beneath to 15cm long. Forms a thicket in ideal condtions
'Nymphenburg' forms a compact clump of arching, purple-flushed, slender green stems bearing narrow leaves to 10cm long
S. kurilensis 'Shima-shimofuri' is a spreading bamboo with slender canes up to 2m in height, bearing leaves to 30cm in length, variably striped with creamy-white
S. palmata is a vigorous small bamboo forming a thicket of erect stems to 2.5m high bearing dark green leaves to 40cm in length, the tips and margins turning pale brown in winter, giving a variegated effect
S. kumasaca is a dwarf, compact bamboo, forming dense, leafy clumps with pale green canes to 1.5m in height, maturing to dull brown. with dark green leaves to 10cm in length
C. marmorea is a low-growing bamboo to 2m high, producing lime-green young shoots marbled brown and white. Arching purple-flushed canes in full sun bear short tufted branches with slender grass-green leaves 10cm in length
P. flexuosa has slightly glossy green wavy canes to 3m tall, which mature to yellow-brown then almost black, with narrow glossy, dark green leaves to 15cm in length which retain their colour through winter
'Castillonii' is a highly ornamental, robust bamboo with thick golden-yellow canes to 4.5m high, striped green in the grooves, and glossy, dark-green lance-shaped leaves to 15cm in length
D. lutescens is an evergreen palm forming a cluster of erect stems to 8m in height, bearing arching pinnate leaves to 2m in length, with linear leaflets, and panicles of small yellow flowers in summer
'Fire Power' is a compact, upright evergreen shrub with compound leaves which are yellowish-green in summer, becoming orange and red in autumn and winter. Flowers small, white, in conical panicles in summer
