It is included in an evolving list of plants carefully researched and chosen by RHS experts. Divided into 3 groups these lists, linked below, are maintained by a team of RHS staff and are reviewed annually.
'Cabaret' is a tall, clump-forming grass up to nearly 2.5m high. The dark green leaves, up to around 32mm wide, have a broad central white stripe and are topped in the autumn by coppery-pink flowerheads that turn a silver colour as they mature
'Undine' is an elegant clump-forming deciduous grass to 2m tall, with long, narrow, arching leaves that turn orange and yellow in autumn, and reddish flower heads ageing to pale silvery-brown in late summer
'Yakushima Dwarf' is a compact deciduous grass to 80cm tall, forming a clump of narrow leaves, with feathery pale brown flowerheads in mid autumn
'Ghana' is an upright, clump-forming deciduous grass to 1.8m tall, with narrow, arching foliage that turns an attractive russet in autumn, and feathery, reddish inflorescences that age to silver, in late summer
'Grosse Fontäne' is a tall plant with long, arching leaves with white midribs and turning orange, red and purple in autumn, and feathery flower heads in late summer, opening pink, later silver
'Adagio' is a an elegant, clump-forming deciduous grass to 1.25m tall, with long, narrow, grey-green, arching leaves that turn orange and yellow in autumn. Pink-tinged, tassel-like flower heads in summer turn creamy-white in autumn
'Juli' is a clump-forming perennial grass with very broad leaves, up to 0.85m high, and stems up to 2m high of pink flowers in late summer, which remain attractive as fluffy brown seedheads in winter
'China' is a deciduous grass forming a clump to 1.5m tall, with narrow, arching olive-green leaves and panicles of silky flowers in early autumn, which are brownish-red when young, ageing to pink and silver
'Flamingo' is a deciduous grass with arching, leaves to 2cm wide, with prominent white midribs, and feathery inflorescences opening in late summer, at first pink-tinged, later silvery
'Septemberrot' is a deciduous grass to 2.4m tall, making a clump of relatively broad leaves with silver midribs, and deep brownish-red flower heads in early autumn
