'Cabaret' is a tall, clump-forming grass up to nearly 2.5m high. The dark green leaves, up to around 32mm wide, have a broad central white stripe and are topped in the autumn by coppery-pink flowerheads that turn a silver colour as they mature
P. commutatum is an upright annual to 40cm, with downy, pinnatifid leaves to 15cm in length and long-stalked flowers 7cm in width, each with four bright red petals, with a large black blotch at the base
'Corky' is a compact perennial making a clump to 70cm in height, with grassy foliage and open trumpet-shaped lemon yellow flowers, 6cm in width, with mahogany stalks
A. halimus is a compact semi-evergreen shrub to 2m, with striking, silvery-grey ovate leaves to 5cm long; occasionally bears insignificant greenish flowers in loose sprays in summer
C. involucratus is an evergreen perennial forming a clump of erect stems to 60cm, ending in a whorl of dark green, grassy leafy bracts; flowers insignificant, yellowish-green
'Galaxy' is a spray chrysanthemum to 1.5m, the single flowers with deep orange rays, tinged bronze, and greenish-yellow disks
'Mrs G.H. Smith' is a white-flowered cultivar with a feathered flash of cerise on the upper two petals. Its dainty, viola-shaped blooms are borne profusely through the growing season
E. himalaicus is a stately plant with rosettes of bright green leaves; each leaf to 50cm long and 4cm wide. Flower spikes, up to 2m tall, comprise numerous individual white flowers, each 2.5-3.5cm across
Falstaff may be grown as a tall shrub or short climber. It produces highly-fragrant, fully-double, shallow-cupped, deep purple-red flowers from early to late summer
