Places where you can grow

Our locations are designed to excite people on their careers and gardening journeys. Our people are based across seven locations*, from stunning gardens to the impressive architectural spaces at the Royal Horticultural Halls. They work in a variety of surroundings – offices, gardens, glasshouses, cottages, garden centres, laboratories, libraries, and portable cabins during the flower shows.

Whatever your role, from catering to curating, science to social media, and whichever location you’re based in, you’ll find an environment that is alive with possibilities.

Where we’re based

Join us and you’ll find we’re a collaborative bunch, and our teams often work closely with each other to ensure the RHS is there for everyone on their lifelong adventure with gardening. Here’s where you’ll find those different teams:

RHS Head Office, London

Our beautiful Edwardian building is in a vibrant area of central London, just a few minute’s walk from Victoria Station. As well as office space, it’s also home to the two Royal Horticultural Halls, which we hire out for corporate events and the world-class Lindley Library. In the local area, you’ll find plenty of shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and parks, while iconic London sites such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament are all close by.

RHS Media, Peterborough

Our light, modern, air-conditioned open plan office is just five minutes’ walk from Peterborough city centre and 15 minutes from the railway station. Join us and you’ll have access to an onsite café, use of a free onsite gym, free city centre parking and secure, indoor bike storage. If you want to get away from your desk, there’s a breakout area, as well as a kitchen with seating, where you can chat to colleagues over lunch or a cup of tea or coffee.

RHS Wisley, Surrey

One of the world’s great gardens, Wisley has been owned and run by the RHS since 1903. As our flagship garden, it offers a wide variety of landscapes to our visitors, from woodland and water to an Alpine meadow and Mediterranean Terraces. It’s also home to iconic glasshouses, The Old Laboratory and RHS Hilltop – The Home of Gardening Science, which opened in 2021 to protect the future of plants, people and the planet.

RHS Harlow Carr, North Yorkshire

Harlow Carr is part of the Yorkshire countryside and has been welcoming visitors since 1950. Set in a valley, with a variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water, to woodland and wildflower meadows, it’s home to a range of gardens, as well as a dedicated Alpine House and the Bramall Learning Centre and Library. Highlights include the lavish Main Borders, bursting with prairie-style planting, and the moisture-loving plants around Streamside.

RHS Rosemoor, Devon

Located in North Devon’s Torridge Valley, Rosemoor provides a stunning spectacle all year round. From cherry blossom in spring and the vibrant Hot Garden in summer to the autumnal blaze of the woodlands and the spectacular Winter Garden. Not to mention the community allotments and Peter Buckley Learning Centre, where we bring the joy of plants and gardening to new audiences every year.

RHS Hyde Hall, Essex

Just 30 minutes from North London, set in the rolling hills of Essex, Hyde Hall is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. Offering beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, it features an iconic Dry Garden with a fantastic range of drought-resistant plants. You’ll also find a Hilltop Garden, Sky Meadow and the stunning Wildwood, as well as the Clore Learning Centre, designed to inspire new generations of gardeners of all ages.

RHS Bridgewater, Greater Manchester

Bridgewater opened in 2021 on the grounds of the former Worsley New Hall in Salford. Working with landscape architect Tom Stuart-Smith and garden designers, our fantastic team created ‘gardens within a garden’ in this heritage landscape. With a strong community focus, Bridgewater includes a Community Grow area and a Community Wellbeing Garden. It’s also home to the Peel Learning Garden, designed to spark enthusiasm for gardening in the next generation.
