The Garden

September 2016

This month, we explore a contemporary, plant-filled garden in the Republic of Ireland, owned by plantswoman June Blake. Jane Powers finds out how she uses the surrounding rural landscape as inspiration. Now is the time to start planning your displays of sweet peas for next year. Roger Parsons profiles a colourful collection RHS Award of Garden Merit varieties.

The sun shone on this year’s RHS Flower Show Tatton Park and visitors enjoyed the array of plant displays and show gardens. We profile the highlights from the show, including award-winning gardens, emerging young talent, and plant and design ideas to take home. Also, Roy Lancaster celebrates his 100th nursery visit with a trip to Dyson’s Nurseries in Kent. Based at RHS Partner Garden Great Comp the nursery specialises in salvias.
