I am driven by a fascination for plants and their histories

I'm a Kew trained gardener, writer, broadcaster and a member of the RHS Woody Plant Committee. At Junior School I was awarded a prize for my 'wide interests’ and the pleasure of sharing these enthusiasms still remains.

I am passionate about all aspects of plants and gardening, and I have travelled globally from alpine zones to the tropics, studying both native and garden flora and I am driven by a fascination for plants and their histories.

Matthew has written several books, contributed to Gardeners’ Question Time publications and writes on a range of subjects for The Garden.
