Monica Whyte is the Bristol in Bloom co-ordinator. Bristol has been entering Britain in Bloom since 2010 and enjoyed considerable success, winning the Large City category in 2011. Bristol has over 450 parks and green spaces which are open and free to the public. For a number of years, Bristol has won a series of national and international accolades for its practical approach to improving the quality of the local environment. In addition, Bristol has identified fresh and creative initiatives which have inspired communities to become more actively involved.
