Growing Tips

You will need:

  • A packet of sweet pepper seeds
  • Compost
  • Empty yogurt pots
  • A sharp nail
  • A sunny windowsill
  • Gardening gloves

How to grow:

  1. Get a grown up to make some holes in the bottom of each yogurt pot using the nail.
  2. Fill each pot about ¾ full of potting compost.
  3. Put two seeds in each pot and cover with another 1cm of compost.
  4. Water the seeds and put them on a sunny windowsill. Make sure that the soil in the pots stays moist.
  5. When two pairs of leaves have grown on each seedling, pull out the smaller one and leave the bigger one to grow in the pot.
  6. When your seedling looks like it is growing too big for its pot, replant it in a new container. Remember to keep the pepper plants well watered. The fruits should be ready to pick from July.
