Growing conditions

Likes to grow in a sunny place in well-drained soil.

When to grow

Sow inside in March and plant out in the garden in May.

What you need

  • Packet of Alyssum seeds
  • Seeds trays
  • Seed compost
  • Plant label
  • Unheated greenhouse or cold frame
  • Gardening gloves

How to grow

  1. Fill your tray with seed compost.
  2. Sprinkle the seeds thinly over the surface and cover with a thin layer of compost. Place in a warm place and keep the compost damp.
  3. When the seedlings are about 2cm tall, transplant them into another tray about 5cm apart.
  4. Gradually harden off the plants and plant them outside 30cm apart.
