Increase your knowledge with work-based training in a real garden setting
Weekly rotations through a number of distinct horticultural areas including: the nursery, kitchen garden, floral ornamental, alpines and woodland.
The Diploma in Horticultural Practice (DHP) course also comprises a detailed lecture and masterclass programme, and students complete various pieces of assessed coursework.
Students also complete a number of short practical-based national qualifications, which include:
FEPA PA1 & PA6aw (pesticides).
Strimming & brushcutting.
Using a hedge trimmer.
Tree assessment course.

Applicants are expected as a minimum to hold a National Certificate in Horticulture, an RHS Level 2 in Horticulture, or similar. Additionally applicants should also have at least six months of practical horticultural experience in a professional environment.
