Damaris Bedford

Librarian, Harlow Carr

My role as Librarian here has enabled me to combine my lifelong love of books with a growing passion for plants

I began work for the Library at RHS Garden Harlow Carr on a snowy January day in 2013, and I have had the pleasure of seeing the seasons change in the gardens many times over since then. My role as Librarian here has enabled me to combine my lifelong love of books with a growing passion for plants.

We are a small library team at Harlow Carr which allows us to get to know our many visitors and take an active part in the wide range of enquiries they bring. Library visitors often comment on what a lovely job I have, working in our award-winning building with stunning views over the gardens. I couldn’t agree more!
