Sarah McDonald

Heritage Collections Manager

We’ve so many beautiful, exciting and unexpected objects in the library – it’s a real joy

The role of Heritage Collections Manager is to help preserve our precious gardening heritage – rare books, artworks, photographs, archives and ephemera – for the future.

We work to recognised museum standards in collection care and one of the highlights of the job is seeing a timeworn item returned to use after careful conservation work.

Another is sharing our passion for gardening, art and history with all our readers and researchers – there’s such a lot you can teach us about our collections.
