Join Andrew Worthington, Sculptor in residence at Mount Pleasant Gardens Cheshire on a stone carving workshop designed for beginners. You will be using a soft limestone which although relatively easy to carve is firm and gives good results. The block you will be using will be approximately a thirty centimetre (eleven inch cube). It is not necessary to have any definite ideas as these can develop and change throughout the weekend with guidance from Andrew but some initial source material in the form of a sketch, photograph or small model might be helpful for inspiration.

Additional info

Tea and coffee and all workshop materials and tools are included, but please bring your own lunch. At the end of the weekend the sculpture is yours to take home. The workshop will be held under cover outside in the garden at RHS Harlow Carr so suitable outdoor clothing and strong footwear, (ideally steel toe cap boots) are essential for both days
