The final in a series of four courses run by Botanical Artist Sue Vize draws to an end in the garden at almost the end of the year. Winter provides the artist with inspiring silhouettes from now bare trees, winter flowering shrubs and vibrant evergreens and berries. Relax and enjoy this two day workshop drawing plants that have been gathered from the gardens of Harlow Carr. Experienced and enthusiastic tutor Sue Vize SBA will help you achieve more out of a coloured pencil than you thought possible, demonstrating the techniques required to accurately draw and achieve depth of colour by building layers of coloured pencil. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace to produce a botanical study of your chosen spring flower or plant. All levels of ability are welcome, whether you are a beginner or someone with previous experience in botanical illustration just wanting to brush up on existing skills. The only requirements are a desire work in detail and a love of plants. Demonstrations and one-to-one guidance throughout. An equipment list will be provided on booking.
