Join in the fun this October half term. We will be unearthing the creepiest of creatures we can find, as usual, we will have a trail around the garden, indoor crafts & outdoor workshops to see what is lurking in the flowerbeds and underneath the rocks. We will also have creepy stories from the Garden Detectives & there will be frogs & reptiles you can get up close & personal with.

Garden Detectives Trail - Daily
Come and take part in our trail around the garden searching out the weird and wonderful creatures that lurk within.

Creepy Creatures in Sunley room - 23 - 27 Oct - 10am – 4pm
Come and see some real-life creepy creatures up close with our animal experts… you can even have a hold if you a brave enough.

Creepy crafts in the Jubilee Room, 23, 25, 27 Oct, 10.30am – 12.30pm then 1pm–3pm
Come and take part in our creepy craft activity where we will be making creepy creature hand puppets.

Garden detective themed storytelling - Wolfson Room - 24 October (Storytelling at 11am, 1pm & 3pm)
Come and listen to the Garden detectives as they tell us all about the creepy creatures and why they might not be so creepy after all...

Bird Ringing with the BTO and the Big Garden Birdwatch, Sunday 29 October, 10am–3pm at the Bird Hide - Weather Dependant

Help the East Dales Ringing Group, part of the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) with a special bird survey. Watch their specially trained bird ringers identify, ring and record the birds that call Harlow Carr home, as part of an important national study, which has been carried out at Harlow Carr since 2009, with almost 1,000 birds now ringed. They’ll also be joined by the Garden Birdwatch team who will be talking about birds that can be found in your garden at home and what you can do to make them welcome.

Outdoor Holiday Club - Drop in between 10.30am–12.30pm & 1pm–3pm - Friday 27 Oct
Join our outdoor holiday club this October half term and explore the woodland at RHS Garden Harlow Carr with our Forest School leader. The theme and activities will be autumn and the creatures you can discover within the woods.

Trolls, ogres, gargoyles and other hideous creatures are hiding in the woods at Harlow Carr Gardens, help us create a woodland full of creepy creatures to scare Harlow Carr visitors.

Bookable Outdoor Holiday Club Woodland - Workshops run from 10am–12noon and 1pm–3pm - Wednesday 25 Oct

Spiders are on the loose in the woods at Harlow Carr join us at our Forest School camp, create a giant spider, make a creepy spider’s web that can hold your entire body, light a fire to keep the spiders at bay and toast a marshmallow before you go.

Workshops are chargeable and need to be pre-booked in advance on 020 3176 5830. Please meet at the entrance 15 before your session to register.
 
Sessions suitable for children aged 5–10 years.
£5 per child Members.
 
Parents/guardians must escort their child to Visitor Services for registration where members will sign in any guests and an emergency contact number will be taken. Adults must then remain on site or within the garden for the duration of the workshop.
